We are excited to announce that we will be setting the Pit up at the Burleson Founders Day, Saturday, October 13. Come on out and join us for some great BBQ as we celebrate the founding of Burleson.
Date:October 13
Time:9:00 AM - 5:00 PM
Address:124 W. Ellison Street
Burleson, TX 76028
“Burleson will commemorate the 20th annual Founders Day celebration in Old Town on Saturday, Oct. 13, 9 a.m.-5 p.m. The fun will take place on Ellison Street. The Burleson Heritage Foundation will host a walk from First Baptist Church (corner of Ellison and Johnson) to the railroad tracks at 10 a.m. That will be followed by a “homecoming” for the linotype at the Burleson Visitors Center, 124 W. Ellison St. The center was once home to the Burleson News and the Burleson Dispatcher. The linotype was a standard in newspaper offices for almost 100 years.
Founders Day is hosted by the City of Burleson and the Burleson Heritage Foundation. Mock gunfights and great food, arts and crafts, carnival rides and entertainment will all mark the celebration of the founding of Burleson, Texas, on Oct. 10, 1881. Burleson was incorporated in 1912. The first Founders Day festival was in 1993. The City is celebrating its Centennial of its incorporation this year.”
